SCHOOLS & CHILDREN ‘Live’ theatre and film can educate and entertain young audiences in so many ways. Here at The Leatherhead Theatre, we want to encourage children to get involved and enjoy all the facilities and opportunities we have on offer. The TheatreThe auditorium can be used for many activities including meetings, lectures and presentations. We are also able to arrange Backstage Tours, which will give your students an understanding of the workings of a theatre. If you have a school play you want to present and the school hall is just not big enough, why not hire the auditorium? The children will learn how a performance is put together and have a great time performing on the main stage! CinemaThe cinema is flexible to what can be shown; we can arrange films you want to see. If you would like a specific film, maybe for media studies or you even want to show educational films please contact us. Cinema is perfect for a school outing to keep the children entertained, educated and informed. At Your SchoolIf you would like members of The Leatherhead Theatre to come and give a talk to your students on certain related theatre subjects, we can arrange a visit to your school. With certain productions it may be possible to organise workshops, a small performance, followed by a question and answer session. THE LEATHERHEAD THEATRE ACADEMY OF PERFORMING ARTS We have teamed up with Songtime, the UK’s most dynamic youth theatre training school, to launch our new Academy of Performing Arts, offering exciting classes in drama, singing, dance and cheerleading. Since 1989, Songtime has been training students in preparation for a professional career in the entertainment industry and former pupils have gone on to achieve huge success in film, TV and on the West End stage.
